PRIVACY POLICY FOR LAST POUR
Last Updated: April 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Last Pour ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our blood alcohol content (BAC) tracking mobile application (the "App"). By using Last Pour, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
- INFORMATION WE COLLECT
1.1 Information You Provide
We collect the following information when you interact with the App:
-
Body weight (required for BAC calculation — prompted at the start of each session so estimates remain accurate)
-
Biological sex (used by the BAC formula; one-time setting, editable at any time)
-
Drink log entries (ounces, alcohol by volume, drink type, timestamp)
-
Session start times and manual "Start New Session" actions
-
App preferences and settings (notification schedules, safety threshold preferences)
Last Pour does not require account creation to use the core BAC tracking features. Sessions may be started via QR code at participating venues without signing up. If you choose to create an optional account to sync sessions across devices, we additionally collect your email address for authentication.
1.2 Optional Information
The following data is collected only when you explicitly enable the corresponding feature:
-
Location data — When you enable the rideshare suggestion feature (Phase 2), your approximate location is used to surface nearby Uber/Lyft options when your BAC estimate exceeds your configured threshold. Location is requested only in the moment the feature is used and is not tracked in the background. Location is not stored on our servers.
-
Health app integration — When you enable Apple Health or Google Fit sync (Phase 2), alcohol consumption entries may be written to your device's health store. We do not read other health data unless you explicitly grant it.
-
Contacts / sharing — When you share a session summary with a friend or designated driver, your chosen contact is accessed locally on your device. Contact data is not uploaded to our servers.
1.3 Automatically Collected Information
For app performance and reliability, we collect:
-
Basic device information (model, OS version)
-
Timezone offset (for session timing and elimination calculations)
-
Crash reports and diagnostics
-
Performance metrics and load times
-
High-level usage analytics (e.g., feature interactions, frequency of app opens)
-
QR scan source (which participating venue a session was started from, when applicable)
-
No advertising tracking data is collected unless opted in, and this data is purely to know which customers came from a TikTok / Facebook advertisement — nothing more.
1.4 Information from Third-Party Services
We receive:
-
Subscription status and payment confirmation from Apple App Store and Google Play
-
Authentication and storage data from Firebase services (only if you create an optional account)
We do not receive credit card numbers or billing addresses.
- HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
2.1 Core App Features
We use your information to:
-
Calculate conservative BAC estimates based on your weight, biological sex, and drink log
-
Apply a 20% safety buffer to all estimates so calculations err on the side of caution
-
Apply time-based elimination (approximately 0.015% per hour) as your session progresses
-
Trigger caution warnings at 0.05% BAC and legal-limit warnings at 0.08% BAC
-
Allow you to review and edit your drink log within the current session
-
Persist session history locally on your device for pattern review (Phase 2)
2.2 Notifications
We send push notifications for:
-
Safety threshold alerts (approaching 0.05% caution, approaching or exceeding 0.08%)
-
Session elimination updates (when your estimated BAC returns to zero)
-
Weight update prompts at the start of a new session
-
Feature updates and important safety advisories
You can configure or disable notifications in the App's notification settings.
2.3 App Maintenance and Improvement
To support ongoing development, we:
-
Analyze general usage patterns in aggregate
-
Improve app performance and reliability
-
Resolve crashes and bugs
-
Develop new features based on user needs
-
We do not send advertising emails or marketing messages.
- DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
3.1 Local-First Storage
Last Pour is designed as a local-first application. Your weight, drink log, session history, and preferences are stored on your device by default. This data does not leave your device unless you:
-
Create an optional account and enable cross-device sync, or
-
Export your session history manually for your own records
3.2 Firebase Storage (Optional)
If you create an account to sync sessions across devices, your account information and synced session data are stored through Firebase infrastructure. Firebase manages:
-
Data encryption in transit and at rest
-
Secure authentication
-
Real-time database sync
3.3 Security Measures
We implement:
-
HTTPS/TLS encrypted data transmission
-
Secure authentication protocols (for optional accounts)
-
Role-based access control
-
Regular security reviews
-
No employee or contractor can access your personal data unless required to resolve a technical issue, and access is always limited and logged.
- DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES
4.1 Firebase
If you create an optional account, Firebase stores and processes data solely to power cross-device sync. Firebase does not access your content for advertising or resale.
4.2 Apple App Store and Google Play
The applicable app store provides subscription and payment confirmation data to us. Neither store provides payment card numbers.
4.3 Participating Venues (QR Code Partners)
Venues that display Last Pour QR codes receive only aggregated, non-identifying analytics (total scans, conversion rates). Venues do not receive your weight, drink log, BAC estimates, or any information tied to you as an individual.
4.4 No Data Sales
We do not:
-
Sell user data
-
Rent user data
-
Trade user data
-
Provide user data for advertising
-
Allow third-party marketing access
-
Share your drinking data with insurers, employers, or law enforcement except as required by a valid legal process
Last Pour is ad-free and revenue is not derived from data exploitation.
- YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
You may:
-
View your full drink log and session history in-app
-
Edit or delete individual drink entries
-
Clear your full session history at any time from Settings
-
Update or remove your stored weight
-
Disable location access at any time through your device settings
-
Control notification preferences
-
Export your data as a CSV for your own records
-
Request account deletion at any time (if you created an optional account)
-
Account and data deletion requests permanently remove your stored information from Firebase infrastructure, except legally required retention or anonymized logs.
- AGE RESTRICTION
Last Pour is intended for users who are of legal drinking age in their jurisdiction (21 and older in the United States). We do not knowingly collect personal information from users below the legal drinking age. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted immediately.
- INTERNATIONAL USERS
If you access Last Pour outside the United States, your data may be processed in other regions where privacy laws differ from your country. By using the app, you consent to this processing. BAC legal limits, elimination rates, and drinking-age regulations vary by jurisdiction — you are responsible for understanding the rules that apply where you are.
- CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Updates will be communicated through:
-
In-app notifications
-
Updated publication date on this document
-
Continued use of the app after changes signifies acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
- DATA RETENTION
9.1 Active Use
Drink log and session data are retained on your device for as long as you choose to keep them. If you have enabled optional account sync, synced data remains in Firebase while your account is active.
9.2 Account Deletion
When you request deletion (for optional accounts):
-
Firebase data is permanently removed
-
Local device data is erased
-
Some anonymized, non-identifiable system data may remain for performance and diagnostics reporting
