PRIVACY POLICY FOR BRAINRANK

Last Updated: May 13, 2026

Digital Den LLC ("we", "us", "our") operates BrainRank (the "App"), a gamified cognitive assessment platform that delivers a personal BrainRank score, percentile ranking, and a 6-domain cognitive strengths radar chart after a short adaptive test. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described here.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Primary Content You Provide for the App's Core Function

To deliver your BrainRank result, the App collects the inputs you provide during the assessment itself:

Your raw test responses are retained only as long as needed to produce, recompute, and display your BrainRank score and cognitive breakdown. You can delete an individual test attempt, your full test history, or your entire account at any time from in-app settings.

1.2 Profile Information

To present your score in context, the App may ask you to provide optional profile information such as age range, country, education level, or primary occupation. These fields are used solely to normalize your score against comparable population data and to power percentile reporting. You may leave any of them blank, edit them later, or remove them entirely.

1.3 Derived Data

From your test responses we compute:

Derived data is stored alongside your test history so you can view your progress over time. Deleting a test attempt removes its associated derived data; deleting your account removes all of it.

1.4 Account Information (Optional)

An account is optional for taking a one-off test, but recommended if you want to save results, track progress, or sync across devices. If you choose to create an account, we collect an email address and an authentication credential (password or third-party sign-in token). We do not collect government identifiers, real names, or any verification documents.

1.5 Automatically Collected Information

When you use the App, we collect a limited set of technical signals needed to keep the App running well:

We do not use advertising identifiers or third-party advertising trackers unless you have explicitly opted in.

1.6 Information from Third-Party Services

2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

2.1 Core App Features

We use your responses and optional profile data to generate your BrainRank score, percentile ranking, and cognitive strengths radar chart; to produce your shareable score card; and, where applicable, to power detailed cognitive breakdowns, historical tracking, and daily brain training recommendations.

2.2 Notifications

If you grant permission, we may send push notifications related to your test results, retest availability, training reminders, or major product updates. You can configure or fully disable notifications in app settings or in your device's system settings at any time.

2.3 App Maintenance and Improvement

We use aggregate analytics and crash reports to fix bugs, evaluate scoring accuracy, and prioritize new features. We do not send advertising emails or marketing messages. Transactional email is limited to account-related notices (e.g., password resets, account deletion confirmations).

2.4 Engine and Model Improvement

BrainRank's scoring engine and adaptive question selection are calibrated against aggregate, de-identified test data. We do not train generic machine-learning models on individual user responses, and we do not sell your data to anyone who does. If we ever propose to use identifiable test data for a new research or training purpose beyond what is described in this Policy, we will ask for your explicit opt-in consent first.

3. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

3.1 Local-First Storage

Where possible, your in-progress test state is held on-device. Data leaves your device when you complete a test (so the result can be saved to your account and synced across devices) or when you trigger a sync, account creation, or backup action.

3.2 Cloud Storage (Optional)

If you create an account, your test history, scores, and derived data are stored with our backend provider. The provider handles encryption in transit and at rest, authentication, and synchronization. The provider does not access your content for advertising or resale.

3.3 Test Content Handling

Your individual test responses, scores, and cognitive breakdowns are transmitted over HTTPS/TLS and stored in access-controlled storage. Where score cards are rendered or stored as images, they are accessible only via scoped, signed URLs tied to your account. Your individual responses and detailed breakdowns are not shared with third parties, ad networks, or marketers. You can delete an individual test attempt, your entire test history, or your account from in-app settings.

3.4 Security Measures

4. DATA SHARING AND THIRD PARTIES

4.1 Cloud and Authentication Provider

Our backend provider stores account data, test history, and derived results so the App can function. They process data solely on our instructions under a data-processing agreement.

4.2 Apple App Store and Google Play

If you make a purchase in the future, the relevant app store sends us a confirmation token to unlock paid features. Apple and Google handle billing directly under their own privacy policies; we never see your payment details.

4.3 Analysis Infrastructure Providers

Where score computation, image rendering, or other compute runs on third-party infrastructure, those providers are bound by data-processing agreements and do not retain your data beyond what is needed to return a result.

4.4 No Data Sales

We do not:

BrainRank is ad-free and our revenue is not derived from data exploitation.

5. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES

You can manage your data directly from the App:

Deleting your account permanently removes your stored personal information from our systems, except for records we are legally required to retain (e.g., basic transaction confirmations if you have purchased anything).

6. AGE RESTRICTION

BrainRank is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it immediately. Users between 13 and 18 should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

7. INTERNATIONAL USERS

BrainRank is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in jurisdictions with privacy laws that differ from those in your home country. By using the App, you consent to that processing. BrainRank's scoring is calibrated against broad population data and reflects performance on a specific set of tasks; the resulting scores and percentiles do not constitute a universal standard of intelligence or capability.

8. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through in-app notifications and reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after an update signifies your acceptance of the revised Policy.

9. DATA RETENTION

9.1 Active Use

While your account is active and your local data exists, we retain your test responses, scores, derived data, and profile information so you can review your history and compare against your past results. You can delete any of this content at any time from in-app settings.

9.2 Account Deletion

When you delete your account, we permanently delete your test responses, BrainRank scores, percentile rankings, cognitive breakdowns, historical trend data, training history, score cards, and local cache. We may retain anonymized, non-identifiable diagnostic and aggregate statistics that cannot be linked back to you.
